There are 2 basic Lozenge patterns and a hexagon pattern.
The most famous are the 4 colors on the Fokker models, 5 colors on the Albatros/Siemens machines and the 3 colors (hexagon) for Hansa Brandenburg or Aviatik.
Because the original cotton quickly discolored, it is difficult to reproduce the original colors. In addition, the then color codes are not 100% transferable to current CMYK colors, the standard for printing. We have done everything we can to get as close as possible, but partly due to the background, color deviations can occur. The linen pattern is drawn under the color and printed with it.
The historical context was provided by Gerry Yarrish of Air Age Publications, among others. Colors and patterns are from WWI Airplanes publication number 88 of February 1982.
